Grandpa Marko went to pick some plums to make his own plum( brandy) rakija and had some leftover fruit. Igor’s grandma, Bernarda, decided to make Knedle. Young Igor loved this dish and that’s how Knedle becomes a regular specialty in his home. Bernarda had always been secretive about her recipes and refused to write anything down. It took us three years to discover the best recipe but we succeeded.
Knedle ( Keh-ned-lay ) in a few words: sweet and light potato dough, stuffed with different creams, fruits, chocolate, and so much more, boiled and then tossed in different sprinkle mixtures (cookie crumbs, coconut, nuts, etc.)
