The fluffiest and tastiest sweet buns (Buhtle)

so flavorful, light and soft,  
filled with delicious jam,
these buns are perfection!

You need:

150 ml warm milk
 2 1/4 teaspoons instant dry yeast
2 teaspoons sugar
100 g melted butter
1 egg
zest  of 1 orange and 1 lemon
420 g (3 1/2 cup) bread flour
1 teaspoon salt 
Flour paste (30 g flour, 30 ml water and 30 ml milk)


12 tablespoons rosehip jam (or any other)
1 egg for egg wash

powdered sugar for dusting


Steps:

- make flour paste:
mix 30 g flour, 30 ml water and 30 ml milk in a small pan,
heat it until starts to thicken,
set aside to cool

- mix warm milk with yeast and sugar
- add to it the melted butter, egg and zest of orange and lemon
- add salt to flour
- mix the yeast mixture with flour
- knead the dough for 15 minutes
- cover the dough and let it rise until doubled
- cut the dough into 12 pieces
- made 12 balls by hands
- roll out each balls in a circle and  spread about 1 tablespoon of jam (use any kind of jam, however, the rosehip jam is the best)
- leave the balls to rise again for 45 minutes
- brush them with egg wash before baking
- bake in a preheated oven (355F /180C) for 30-35 minutes
- when baked dust the buns with powdered sugar

Serve the buhlte while warm.
